Perlite is a porous, silicous material produced by rapidly heating a natural volcanic material.

It is sterile immediately after production and supplies no nutrients.

It is an ideal medium for hydroponic culture and improves aeration of potting mixes or growing media.

Clean and sterile.

Lightweight and easy to handle.

Does not deteriorate – lasts indefinitely.

Does not compact thereby providing good aeration and drainage – ideal for long lasting plants.

Keeps supplying water and or nutrients to plants when a reservoir is used.
